  1. Hi,

    I am looking to purchase a notebook.
    The last computer I built was;
    AMD64 3200+~~ASUS K8V SE mobo~~1gig 3200mem~~160gighd~~aiw9800pro

    I am looking to have the same performance/features out of a notebook;
    What do you recommend in CPU?
    What do you recommend for videocard?
    Also, any specific models, brands..

    I am thinking Toshiba.

    Any recommendations?

    You will not get the equivalent performance out of any laptop.

    As for recommendations.. Since your only given criteria is just plain impossible then you should tell us more what do you want out of the thing.

    Are you going to lug it around so it would have to be small/light?
    Do you do some serious work that needs big screen estate?
    Does it have to be pretty?
    Would you need COM and PS2 ports there or would you be satisfied with just two USB ports?
    CDROM/floppy or just usb disks?

    I just bought the Acer Ferrari 3400. I think it has everything - good specs and light weight.

    Capital, Asking one's opinion maybe ok, but doing the research is the best because you will learn so much. After you decide and buy the one that feels right for you, make sure you buy the best warranty the have. I have seen to many burned up motherboards, no video problems on laptops less than a year old. Then you won't have to list it on Ebay for parts.
