Caesar IV lag on ALienware

My laptop is running slow/lag (not totally unplayable but noticeable) while playing Caesar IV, I had correctly install all its driver but still experience lagging while playing the game. (SOLO game play)

Spec: 2.16Ghz Core 2 Duo
1 GB Ram
Go 7600gs 256 MB
80 GB HDD

My spec is above the minimum requirement my question is why am I experiencing the lag? and how am I about to fix it. thank

Have you tried lowering the resolution? Are there any Anti-Virus or Spyware running?

Scan your PC for viruses / spyware ( Follow this instructions: https://www.techspot.com/community/...lware-removal-preliminary-instructions.58138/ )

Then try and do what mopar man said by lowering the resolution, if that doesnt work then try and reinstall the game?
