cannot execute any programs in XP

Howdy folks,

Recently have been faced with a comp that will not execute programs.

Getting an error saying the sytem cannot find the file or path

However the programs will operate if you open a file already created by them.

Even if you browse to the executable the same error occurs.

Any suggestions most welcomed...

Also...

if a reinstall is required will the system language files be affected?

I ask because the operating system is set for french

your registry is corrupt. run chkdsk. right click your drive, properties and select scan for errors.

Even better - run norton systemworks registry repair.
