Cannot upgrade Win2000 to WinXP

hi, I just purchased a WinXp upgrade,and cannot get it to install. When I click install,I get an error message that says my current windows is not an upgradeable path. I also do not have the original Win2000 disc, since when the pc was built my friend installed Win2000 for me. The other problem is Best Buy will not let me exchange for the full WinXP version. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well I found my problem after doing some research. Win2000Pro cannot be upgraded to XPHome only XpPro. Now I just have to deal with Best Buy since the sold me XP home and said it would work.
