Can't connect to my Ventrilo server, others can!

I cannot connect to my Vent server. I can connect to other Vent servers, and other people can connect to mine. I turned on port forwarding for the correct port range for my router, reinstalled Ventrilo and everything, nothing is working.

What could be wrong?

"cannot connect" means what? A big red dialog comes up and says "Cannot connect"?

"nothing is working" means what? You can't do your stuff in the toilet either?

If you are connecting to your own public IP address, then it is probably your (lousy) router not supporting loopback connections. Connect to your own LAN IP instead.
