can't play a lot of the games

Well, not too long ago I purchased a Radeon 9550 due to my nVidia card melting :dead:
I haven't had too many problems but now that I try to play some of the older games, such as Age of Empires 2 and Empire Earth..it won't let me do it...wtf?
Everytime I try to play, the game minimizes into the taskbar and I am left staring at my desktop. This does not happen as bad with newer games. I have no problem running Battlefield 2 and Age of Empires 3...what is going on here? It's really starting to piss me off

Any advice would be appreciated.

Try updating your drivers from www.ati.com
Otherwise, try patching those games with the latest patches available

Did you uninstall the Nvidia drivers BEFORE installing the ATI card?
