Card for Age of Empires 3, and similar

My current graphics card doesn't allow me to play Age of Empires 3, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, and similar games on full graphics flawlessly. My system details are:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-M55SLI-S4 (nVidia nForce4 SLI chipset)
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+
Memory: 1GB of RAM
Graphics Card: (MSI) ATI Radeon RX1800GTO

What does everyone think of the Inno3D GeForce 7950 GT card for an upgrade? Or maybe the 7950 GX2? I'd be willing to wait longer and save up for a more expensive card if it's likely to perform much better (and future-proof my system). Any other suggestions would be great. Also, I'm assuming it would pay to upgrade my RAM?

The 7900GTO can be found on newegg, that may be your best bet, it goes for 260$ on newegg and is close to 7900GTX speeds. Two 7900GTO's would beat quad-SLI IMO, because two 7900GTX's beats quad SLI. And yes, i would upgrade RAM first and see where that gets you.
