A while back ago i burned a cd with windows media player. Just when it
was about to finish i got a message saying that there was an error
finishing the cd. when i played the cd in a stereo the cd had this noise in
it.I burned a couple of more cds with a different program and i still
got the the same problem.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Go HERE and read my post. This is because we need some more info.

Also what cd drive is it? How old is it? When did the problem first start?

Could it be a faulty batch of blank cd`s?

What programmes are you using for burning?

time to replace Cd burner? :p

I always have bad experiences with my CD-RWs (and also DVD-RWs). They die on me after about a year, no matter what brand, what model, how much I paid for it or how many times I sent them in for waranty. They just die, and I'll have to replace them after a year (5 years since my first CD-RW, I've changed them 7-8 times, multiple computers).

Maybe you should clean your room more often or set up some dust bunny traps around your computer? :p
