Cd rom causes restart!

Basically this is my problem: I insert a cd-rom and the pc restarts, and it won't boot while the cd-rom is in the drive. Everything was working ok until I installed a graphic card (GeForce FX 5500), which works fine btw. I don't know if it has anything to do with the cd-rom problem!
Anybody knows what might be wrong? I checked all the connections to the drive and they're ok..

Looks like one of the rare cases where blaming the PSU is relevant.

Your new graphics card draws so much power that when the CDROM drive wants to spin up the disc the load gets too heavy.

Get a new more powerful PSU or disconnect some useless hardware.
