I often have to do analysis and reporting on IIS logs, pinpointing users who are still accessing old systems and sending this info to other admins to track down why they are using it.
I can get usernames (like ldavis3, mmoon, HPATEL) easily. But the challenge is often getting REAL names for a report, and these people need both.
Currently, I have to go into Active Directory and search for each user name, and just go in and find the real name. Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V like 300 times LOL.
THERE'S GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY!!!! =)
Does anyone use DSQuery? I just found out it existed (Doh!) and am just trying to find out how to get a user's actual name output from an input of their username. From there, I think I am golden.
Cheers,
shane
