Changing Cpu Speed?

Hi I have a intel p4 2.4 ghz that i bought in a complete system. The cpu is 2.4 ghz but is currently on 1.8 ghz. I know how to change the fsb or sumthing like that, but when i set my computer to 2.4 ghz, i hear the computer start but its just a black screen??? Any ideas. I wont to get the most out of my pc. Thanks for looking. :eek:
 
Just did a bit of research for you, and found this thread:

There are (er... where... people with the same problem you are having when this system came out)

It seems that you need to change some jumper settings to get yourself up to a 133FSB, but it'll depend on whether or not your ram is up to the task. I didn't read all of it, as there are just to many posts, but I bet your answer is in there.

Read through that thread I linked you to above. It sounds like there is a jumper on your motherboard you need to set, in order to get your mobo to a 133fsb.
