Chkdsk /r /f results in :Irql Not Less Or Equal

I'm using a Packard Bell iMedia P4/256MB Ram XPHomeSP2 on a Samsung SP0411N HD. Running chkdsk /r /f on using tools> check disk results in the following when it reaches Stage 4, 14 percent:
Irql_Not_Less_Or_Equal.....
Technical Information:
Stop: 0x0000000A(0x000000166,0x00000002,0x00000000,0x804E5433)
Could it be the Vodafone/Huawei E220 USB modem I installed, or Windows Live Messenger 8.1 Beta or Limewire 4.12.11? or some other hardware/software? Help please, much appreciated. This is my virgin post.

Or, just test your RAM and the hard drive with the manufacturer utility..
