CiD popups - I have followed all prior instructions

I'm having problems with CiD popups. I followed all the preliminary removal instructions. I also ran NoLop. I'm attaching HJT, AVG and Combofix logs. The AVG antirootkit found nothing.

Could someone please review them and help me? If there is anything else I need to attach or other tasks I need to perform please let me know. I'm trying to come into this as prepared as possible, so I lurked a bit before actually making a thread.

Thank you so much for your time.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Delete all files in AVG Antispyware quarantine.

1. Please download The Avenger by Swandog46 from HERE. Save it to your Desktop and extract it.

2. Download the attached avengerscript.txt and save it to your desktop

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

3. Now, start The Avenger program by double clicking on its icon on your desktop.

Under "Script file to execute" choose "Load script from file".
Now click on the folder icon which will open a new window titled "open Script File"
navigate to the file you have just downloaded, click on it and press open
Now click on the Green Light to begin execution of the script
Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.

4. The Avenger will automatically do the following:

It will Restart your computer. ( In cases where the code to execute contains "Drivers to Unload", The Avenger will actually restart your system twice.)
On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.

5. Please attach the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply, as well as a fresh HJT, Combofix and AVG Antispyware log..

Regards Howard

Thank you. When I ran AVG again it detected another infected file, which i quarantined. I'll attach the logs you asked for.

Thanks again for doing this. I appreciate it.

You might want to copy and paste these instructions into a notepad file. Then you can have the file open in safe mode, so you can follow the instructions easier.

Download Vundofix from HERE.

Double click the Vundofix.exe to run it.

Right click in the vundofix window and click add files.

Enter the full file path/s to the files you want Vundofix to delete and click the add files button, followed by the close window button. Click the remove vundo button and let Vundofix do it`s stuff.

This is the filepath you need to enter into Vundofix.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\GE.dll

Boot into safe mode, under your normal user name(NOT THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT). See how HERE.

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE.

Open your task manager, by holding down the ctrl and alt keys and pressing the delete key.

Click on the processes tab and end process for(if there).

logo free.exe
Dash part meta.exe
Owns Media Copy.exe

Close task manager.

Run HJT with no other programmes open(except notepad). Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

Fix all O2 - BHO: Entries that say either (No Name) or (File Missing).

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-D0FC-E57AF4D5FA7D} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ROAD ITCH AMOK PING] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Long slow road itch\logo free.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [poll memo junk ping] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\16 new ping long\Dash part meta.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Stop Mp3] C:\DOCUME~1\Courtney\APPLIC~1\ABOUTM~1\Owns Media Copy.exe

Click on the fix checked button.

Close HJT.

Locate and delete the following bold files and/or directories(if there).

C:\DOCUME~1\Courtney\APPLIC~1\ABOUTM~1<Delete the entire folder.
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\16 new ping long<Delete the entire folder.
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Long slow road itch<Delete the entire folder.

C:\DOCUME~1\Family\APPLIC~1\à?pPatch<Delete the entire folder.
C:\DOCUME~1\Family\APPLIC~1\??stem32<Delete the entire folder.

C:\Qoobox
C:\Vundofix backups
C:\NoLopBackups

Click start/run and type regsvr32 /u C:\WINDOWS\system32\tobfa.dll into the run box and press the enter key. Note the space between the 2 and the forward slash and again between the u and c.

Do the same for the other files below.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\rufiiile.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\feaxkr.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\GE.dll

Then delete the bold files below(if there).

C:\WINDOWS\system32\rufiiile.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\feaxkr.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\GE.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tobfa.dll

Reboot into normal mode and rehide your protected OS files.

Post a fresh HJT log as well as a fresh Combofix log.

logo free.exe
Dash part meta.exe
Owns Media Copy.exe
--were not there when i went to end task.

I fixed the entries you specified with HJT.

The only files that were there to delete out of the ones you mentioned were(and obviously I did delete them):
C:\Qoobox
C:\Vundofix backups
C:\NoLopBackups

When I did this:
regsvr32 /u C:\WINDOWS\system32\tobfa.dll

it said "module not found" for every file.

Fresh logs attached. :)

Your logs look clean.

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how HERE.

Now, turn system restore back on. This will have deleted all your old restore points and any nasties that are in them. It will also have created a new, clean restore point.

If you have any further virus/spyware problems, please post in this thread.

Regards Howard :)
