Clean start

Right now, I have a new computer I built but it has no OS. I have to wait about a week before I get authorization to obtain a copy of XP from the school. Since it's an Athlon64, I figure I'd download the preview version of Windows XP 64-bit and use that until I get my copy from the school. Anyhow, can anyone go through the steps of effectively formatting the harddrive after I'm done with the preview version so I get a clean start? I'm new to XP (yeah, I'm late) and I just wanted confirmation so I don't do anything stupid. BTW, it's SATA. TIA

Boot off the cd and when the partition information comes up, blow away the partition. Format the new partition and install. Just take your time and read the prompts as windows presents them. I havn't installed the version you wish to try but I would guess the installation routines are similar. Just remember to hit the F6 button if you need to install drivers for non native hard drive ports.
Have Fun!
