Clicking an underlined download link results in a 'Search' instead of 'Save As'?

I used to get the option where to save a download, now selecting an underlined download link results in a 'Search' screen appearing.

I can still right click and select 'Save As' however but I cannot find what setting has been altered nor any download handling software that has installed itself.

Can anybody shead any light on how I may go about rectifying this annoying problem?

Thanks,

Brian.

You probably have a bug .You don't say what software you have to search for them so I suggest you go to the Link below and take your time to follow the instructions. It is some work but it is essential information.

Thanks for the reply.

XP home edition with Norton Antivirus, use Adaware se and Spybot weekly. All are up to date.

I am starting to think that a registry entry has been damaged?

Another thought I had was that the default option for a file type connected to downloads has been altered from 'Save As' to 'Search'?

Any further thoughts welcome.
