I have just recently had comcast install there filter at my house. My comcast worked fine until then. Now it works sometimes and then sometimes it stops. Nothing has changed on the computers or router. When I do plug it straight in to the modem it dosen't works as well, and like I said it happens every now and then.

I run comcast no filter
we have the whole 9 yards
cable tv voip and internet no filters anywhere
if you are referring to the line splitters ,then it's a bad one they do go bad to
you can check signal with 192.168.100.1
I don't remember what the range is supposed to be

Remove the filter? Or complain to Comcast and ask them to replace it.

for coaxial cables, there are several variations of splitters (ie one in, many out)
and they are rated at XXX.xx mhz. Here in the USA, you can go to Radio Shack
and buy the highest rated spliters and the should be fine.

I had to upgrade mine, even if it was a seemingly trivial change,
eg 900 mhz to 120.2 mhz (relative numbers, not precise for purchasing).
