Compact Flash Drive useable as storage but not in camera

I have a 1 GB compact flash card that my wife laundered. Yep, both washed and dried. Looked sparkly and new. But now my camera (EOS 10d) wont recognize it. I have used it with a card reader with XP and am able to read and write to it for storage purposes and format with no problems at all. The only thing i can think of is that there is HPA or DCO that is corrupted. Do CF cards even have these sectors? Is there any way to clone another CF card to this one including the hidden sectors, or possibly to repair these sectors. I am pretty sure its not fried since it still works with card reader. Would like to be able to use in my camera again.

Does that camera actually say that there is no card inserted? Did you try formatting the thing inside the camera using the camera's format function?

i dont have my camera on me at the moment, but i have tried to format it in the camera before. When i put the card in it either says "CF error" or "no card". I will double check in a bit though.
