Company of heroes, good computer specs - low frame rate... why?!

Hi,
I just installed COH and it is really annoying me how all the cutscenes are jerky, i have to put every graphics option on lowest and still it has occasional stutters.....help!

my specs are:

Dell inspiron 530,
OS: Vista home premium
RAM: 2gb
processor: intel core duo E6550 2.33ghz
card: nvidia geforce 8600GT 256mb

I did the performance test on automatic settings and i get an average frame rate of 19fps.......please help me.

what monitor? what resolution? what refresh rate?

You might be running it in DX10 mode, which explains the horrid performance. If you're not, do you have programs running in the background? Close all AV programs and any others to free up RAM. In addition, use AVG Anti-Spyware and Ad-Aware to run a scan for any trojans or spyware that might be eating up CPU cycles. Lastly, try patching the game to the latest version.

How do i change from dx10 mode? what to?

i think its shader level, change from dx10 to high or low. with your system it should manage high.

my monitor's a Dell SE198WFP (analog) on 75hertz refresh rate....
