I just recently chnaged my CMOS battery and now the computer will not get past the POST process. On two occasions after chnaging the battery, I was able to boot into safe mode. I tried doing a system restore but that failed. On loading, the load bar show that it is staring to load, but then it stops and does not load the OS. The only way to get out of this is by turning the machine off. I am running Windows XP. Please help!!!!

Welcome to Techspot
Normally when you change the cmos battery you must reset the bios .You have not filled out any info as to your computer's configuration , so you will have to get this stuff yourself.
Go to the website for your make and Model Mb (or in Owner's Manual) and get the instructions for how to perform a bios reset.Follow the directions correctly(print them out.)
You can screw your machine up if not performed right.
