hi my names paul

If I am in the right place,I was wondering if someone could throw a light on this problem ive had on my pc for months even years maybe.
the crash only occurs at any stage during bootup & when it's actually been booted up, say a couple of minuets.
once it's up and running, say after 3 attempts, it will stay on all day if I want it to.
I've srtripped it down and cleaned everthing as your meant to now and again but never seeked proffesional help.

the pc athlon 2, 40Gb Hd Drive, Audigy soundcard, 256 ram, Geforce 4 graphics, Kcorp wireless card, jetway 266b motherboard.

any help much appreciated

regards paul

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

I have moved your thread to a more appropriate forum, also I have changed your thread title to something more descriptive.

Just a few suggestions.

Make sure your psu is putting out enough power for your system. Pay particular attention to how many amps it gives on the 12volt rail. You can find this info on the psu label.

Take a look at this psu wattage calculator.

Check your system for viruses/spyware etc. This thread HERE will help you to do that.

If you system is free from infections, maybe doing a Windows repair as per this thread HERE will help.

Please let us know the results.

hi, I'vegone through all the scans etc that you have sent, I have AVG free & adaware anyway but I have still done as you advised.

In ccleaner I didnt check advanced options box, was unsure.

In smitfraud, didnt know what to do when it asked do I want to clean registry (looked a bit dodgy).

also ive run a HJT scan which came up with a long list but I cannot find file, I didnt want to check any boxes and delete in case I messed somthing up.

when I find this file I will send it.

Sorry its taken so long, dont have a lot of spare time.

thanks for your help

Paul

hi again

ive found file, hope it works.

Run HJT with no other programmes open. Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

O16 - DPF: RaptisoftGameLoader - http://www.miniclip.com/hamsterball/raptisoftgameloader.cab

O16 - DPF: {288C5F13-7E52-4ADA-A32E-F5BF9D125F99} (CR64Loader Object) - http://www.miniclip.com/bestfriends/miniclipGameLoader.dll

O16 - DPF: {A243F6C2-34D2-4549-BCCD-A7BEF759B236} (Seekford Solutions, Inc.'s ssiPictureUploader Control) - http://img.funtigo.com/images/uploader/ssiPictureUploader.cab

O16 - DPF: {C02226EB-A5D7-4B1F-BD7E-635E46C2288D} (Toontown Installer ActiveX Control) - http://ukdownload.toontown.com/sv1.0.20.19/ttinst.cab

Click on the fix checked button.

Close HJT.

Reboot your computer.

Follow the instructions for Ccleaner exactly.

Rename HijackThis.exe to HijackThis1991.exe, delete HijackThis.exe and post a fresh HJT log.

Regards Howard :)
