Computer just died - have replaced PSU

Some weeks ago, as I was about to jet off o'seas, my PC just stopped working. The monitor suddenly stated "No RGB Input" and then the system turned off. There was a burning smell!! I was just Word Processing at the time.

After reading this and other forums, I replaced the PSU, but no change. Pressing the power switch does nothing - no fans, no lights - nothing!

I have now returned from o'seas and of course no change. Following advice from forums, I have stripped the MOBO to just CPU, and tried shorcircuiting the power switch, but all to no avail.

There is power getting to the MOBO as the chipset heatsink gets warm/hot with power plugged in.

The MOBO and CPU are both new, bought in March this year.

Specs:
AMD 64 3200
GA-K8NSC
1 Gb RAM
nvidia FX 5200 graphics

Any suggestions gratefully received.

It sounds like when you PSU went it took your CPU with it. maybe the mobo is still good but it can be hard to tell. if the mobo is damaged it could trash a new CPU if you put one in.
