Computer not detecting Harddrive, CD or DVD drives

Hi

When I start my computer I get a black screen with Disk Boot Failure, Insert System Disk & Press Enter.
The BIOS doesn't list the harddrive, CD, or DVD drives....(The only drive listed is the floppy drive).
I have checked the cables & all seem on tight.

This is a hp pavilion computer (windows XP-home) it was working fine until I turned it on one morning & received a BSOD. I restarted it......Now all I get is the Disk Boot Failure & it won't load windows.

Any HELP would be greatly appreciated!

have you look into the jumper setting?

Some of these pre-build system will only allow you to have 1 HD at 1 channel during boot up, so the boot HD must be it's own channel and set as master.
