Ok, I was restarting my computer it turned on, but had a 2 second flash on off

and continued booting on the Windows XP load screen after bios. Then it shuts

down and turns back on and does it all over again. Then I turned it off by

holding in power button, and when I try to turn it back it the tower stays on but

it won't seem to send a signal to my monitor to display a picture or something. I

don't know if their is something wrong with my tower or what, my monitor is

perfectly fine I have it hooked up to my laptop and am using it now as I type

this. I don't know what it is I've heard PSU or motherboard but my computer is

still turning on. Any help appreciated.

Computer Specs:

eMachines
AMD Sempron 3000+ 2.0 Ghz
512 MB RAM
Geforce 4 MX Intergrated 64 MB
80 Gigabyte harddrive
Windows XP Home Edition

and I know eMachines isn't good and I've had for two years.

this might be a motherboard or a power supply issue... but first try reconnecting the memory modules and then turn your computer on..

re:

did you hear beep codes after reconnecting memory modules?

if yes, try reconnecting it again and then reconnect the processor..

if no, you need to replace your motherboard..

I heard iy every once and awhile when it worked but it jus turns on for a split second and turns off. But the mobo is giving off some odd smell like a capacitor or something is fried.
