Computer Runs Then Freezes

Hi there wondered if some one could help.
My pc keeps freezing- it happens very irregular sometimes it happens after 5 mins after turn on then others it can run all day and then crash.
I have tried taking sides off case and blowing a fan in there but to no avail i wondered if it could be my power unit what do u think?

there could be several causes. the first thing to check would be the ram. run memtest ont he ram. it could also be damaged or missing system files. if you are running XP and have an XP Cd you can run system file checker. put the XP Cd in the drive and open a command prompt and type sfc /scannow then press enter this will run system file checker and replace any damaged or missing system files.

if you need more assistence you need to tell us about your hardware set up. ie; motherboard, CPU, ram, video, what version of windows, and what power supply and wattage.
