Computer will not recognize video card

I installed a ATI Radeon 9250 pci and my computer will not regonize it. In BIOS I turned off onboard video and set it at pci. Under display adator's I only had intel 82845G1/GL/GE/PE/GV graphics controller, I unistalled it and when I reboot my computer in never finds the Radeon and auto downloads the Intel again. I have ran the drivers cd but nothing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i have the same problem many people do with the same graphic card, a lot of people have posted their problems on the forum. mine still isnt working and i dont know what to do. could it be something wrong with the graphic card because so many people are having difficulties with it?
