Computers shuts off

i have a dell laptop 3.2 pen 4, 256 ram, 30 gig hard drive. if touch around the area where the mouse pad is on the laptop, my display will go blank. you can here the cpu running. and sometimes the whole thing shuts off. can anyone help

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

If your laptop is still under warranty, send it in for repair.

If not, take it to a good pc repair shop, and have them look at it for you.
