Computor shuts off after 10 seconds

Ok so i have a brand new computor just bought it and put it together i was still waiteing on the cpu so i turned it on just to make shure i hooked up everything right. Everything worked fine and the computor would stay on. I got my cpu couple days later put it in and now the computor shuts off after 10 to 20 seconds. Every time I try to turn it on after that the up time gets shorter untill it just turns on and back off. The cpu did not come with a fan or heat sinc is it possible that its over heating?

IF YOU CAN HELP I WOULD BE VERY GREATFULL.

I think you just answered your own question! It's overheatng and shutting down.

Running a current generation cpu without a heatsink/fan combo is just begging to burn out the cpu as they run very hot!
