I just bought a new router Netgear WGT624 and have a dual boot machine (Windows XP SP2 and Ubuntu Linux 5.10).
In Windows XP, if I have my computer on for more than 1 day, I'll experience a connection loss. That is, all of a sudden, I wouldn't be able to connect to the internet. To remedy this, I have to tried 'ipconfig /release' then 'ipconfig /renew' on my computer, which doesn't solve the problem. What worked was to restart win XP (which is inconvenient).
In Linux, I can have my computer on for as long as I want and I don't have the problem.
Can someone tell me why I get the connection loss problem in windows XP only? How can I fix the problem?
PS. I have the latest firmware (V4.1.11_1.0.1) and the router hardware version is v3.
