Control panel always crashes! Need Help! getting PO....

Whenever i try to open the control panel, no matter where from (start menu, my computer etc.) it crashes, gives me an error reporting option and then the screen refreshes and closes and windows using windows explorer.

I have heard that this could be cause by corrupted .cpl files and that i would have to individually test each one. Is there any way to get new files or anything? and suggestions would be appreciated.

I had the same problem with my old 9600XT ,so i got a 6800![not cause of the problem, just good timing]
Anyway im my 6800 got a lil fryd so im getting it repaired,im back on my 9600 now and after clearing out the old drivers totally[for the 6800] and installing full new all round drivers the problems gone,but im sure theres an easier way.

I would suggest that you do a repair of Windows as in this thread HERE

lol ,oh sry yea it fully fixed the control panel problem....but true,there was a major element of confusion
