The Icon for my music has been corrupted to a "generic" icon. 10 Pages into a google search meant nothing. I wish to restore this icon to the Media Player icon, but haven't a clue as to how. Any help would be appreciate

1. Click Start, click Run, and then type: rundll32 mydocs.dll,PerUserInit

2. Click OK.

There will be no notification if the command has been successfully executed or not ]

This command also restores the missing My Documents shortcut in the Send To menu.

No Go. If it means anything, I have these files in folders according to artist or genera. The icon for the folder is ok, but the icon for the file is what is corrupt.

Your not allowed to change the question completely.:)

Here is my answer to your new question -

Windows provides icons for media files based on the default media player for that file type.

The first thing I suggest you do is go into WMP Tools/Options/File types and make syre that mp3s
and all other sound file types are checked.

You can achieve the same thing by right clicking on a file, and selecting "open with",
then browsing to wmplayer.exe.Check the "always open with..etc" box.

One other thing :Your file names cannot be more than 255 characters.

Preciate ya friend, that did it. Sorry for the confusion. I now feel like an ***** for not thinking of that solution, as well as for phrasing my question incorrectly, lol.
