I am planning to take my CPU to somebody who has a tool that checks to see if it is fried or not, and I have to travel with it. Is there any way that I can keep it safe from further dammaging it to his house without it on the mobo?

There's a weird pad(don't remember the name -.-) that comes with all CPU's that lets any assortment of pins go in freely and should keep it fairly safe unless you toss it around.

Clean off the old thrermal pad/paste from the cpu die and pop it in a polythene bag. Put the bag in either a padded envelope or a small box with either foam rubber or bubble wrap. It`ll be perfectly fine.

Regards Howard :)
