CPU temp

My computer keeps locking/giving bsod so after reading what to do b4 posting minidumps I downloaded Everest to see the cpu temp.

I have Everest running and it the CPU temp constantly changes

116C
98C
17C
8C

How do I know if this is too hot?

Those are rather big jumps there and that 116 is pretty unbelievable..

Software CPU temperature monitors lie sometimes. The CPU temperatures you see in the system BIOS are always reliable. After a crash, press reset and immediately go and see inside the BIOS what your CPU temperature is.
