"CRC" when printing is that normal?

I'm having problems with my printer today. Every time I try to print I get a message saying "There was an error writing to USB001 for the printer (HP Deskjet 6500 series): Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)." I read that CRC usually comes up when there is a problem transporting data but in this case I'm just trying to print. What can I do to fix it?

Hello! Welcome to TechSpot

Try changing out the usb cable, or switch to
LPT cable if the printer supports both.
Next try re-installing the printer drivers.
If these don't help, maybe the prob is the
software you are printing from, ie; word, works,
word perfect etc.
G'Luck
