Crippled sound while recording; CMI8738/C3DX PCI

Hi guys!

First of all, hello to everybody :).

I need help, urgently:

After reinstalling WinXP, I got a weird problem: while recording (from any audio source - line in, microphone) I get sound sometimes somewhat "jammed": a very small portion of recording repeats itself, as if it got stuck in a buffer; tried it in Total Recorder 6.0, Nero Audio and, of course, windows std "sound rec"...

..Any idea what could that be?

TIA! :)

Acceleration settings? There was another post about this a few days ago but I cannot trace it.
Look at the settings in control panel > sounds and audio > advanced audio properties > performance > drag back the sliders on both to see if it fixes the problem.

First of all, thank you for your reply.

I have already tried it and it didn't work out :(. Besides, before the reinstallation of Windows it worked.. (but, of course, who knows what could have happenned :) )

Any other ideas?

It must be the drivers as it worked before you reinstallled your OS.
Download the latest set from the motherboard or sound card maker's website and instlall them.
