Basically i am getting 40 + fps constantly, goes to 90 sometimes, and drops when theres a lot of players on screen and stuff, its so annoying and i just wondered if someone can possibly help, people have told me they have got lower specs computers than me and have a constant 100fps so thats why i wondered why i am not getting this constant 100fps.

Thanks a million.

Hi,

I'm not familiar with CS but in other similar games there is an option for how many frames per second. It should be "automatic" and then anywhere from 40 to 160fps. If this doesnt work, you may need to lower some specs on the game such as filtering, or amount of objects to be able to have 100fps.

Hope this helps,

Korrupt

I've never came across an FPS option like that :)

but i will try lowering all the settings, so thanks for your help.

Lower ur resolution. Should make a lot of difference. CS 1.6 doesn't look particularly better when its at 1024x768 than when its at 640x480. I'm sure it will help u.

U also talk about getting 100 fps. Ur video card is good enough but it is probably getting bottlenecked by ur CPU. Celerons as such aren't very good for gaming and urs is not even 2 GHz, so I would say that would be ur primary suspect. This is one of the cons of buying a high-end graphic card and a low-spec processor for gaming.

P.S. - 640x480 is what I used to play CS 1.6 on my Riva TNT2 :D

lol thanks for your post, yes i understand about my processor, would a 2.4 make much difference? because i could swap the family PC with mine obviously use an external hard drive to transfer the files but would it be worth it?

thanks for your post.
