i know i will have to upgrade my power supply but will the pins fit into a regular pci slot on my mobo

It should work fine, however there are some faster cards available that also will work.(I assume you are wanting to run games)

If you're going to update your power supply in your Dell, I suggest that you purchase it from one of the sites listed below.

The reason I suggest these 2 sites is that they offer a Dell configurator which matches your system. Dell is a proprietary company and getting parts to fit them are difficult at times. For instance, their power supply's outlet is on the opposite side of most other systems. The above 2 sites know this and they are great at what they offer.

I'm not sure if you'll need a new power supply. Dell's power supplies have more power than they say. Supposedly the E310 only has a 230w power supply, but it can handle much more than that. That's apparently only the average. In case it saves you some money, you shouldn't order a power supply until you've already tried the card, since you might not have any issues with it.
