Pentium 4 switching Help!!!

I have a Dell 2400. It has a Pentium 4 2.8Ghz. processor. I would like to know if I will be able to switch over my processor over to a new motherboard perhaps containing a PCI-E or AGP slot available. I am unsure of my CPU Socket. I have the Dell specs about my computer here:

It would save my a lot of money if I am able to switch over my processor into a new motherboard! Thank you very much!

Sure you can, that CPU is a P4 socket which is the Socket 478. If you can find a S478 board with PCI-E, I'm not sure if they make them.

In any case, should work fine. When switching the CPU, be VERY carefull to ground yourself, don't bend any pins, and put some fresh thermal compound on the new setup. Might even be a good time to replace the heatsink/fan alltogether.

Good luck!
