Dell inspiron 1150 wont start

i have a dell inspiron 1150 and the power cord got loose and it would flicker from charging to not and now it wont even turn on with the cord in the two outsids lights on the front either flash ot go steady deprnding on how you wiggle the cord it wont power on st all the dell people said it was a bad board are they right? any ideas?

The DC Jack is broken. This DC Jack is where you plug in the AC adapter. The jack is soldered to the motherboard, and It can be replaced without having to replace the motherboard
