Desktop problems. Virus?!

I have been having soo many problems on my computer recently. A million pop-ups, not being able to use search engines, and just about a ton more. So I'll start with one problem at a time.

When I first sign onto the computer my desktop looks normal, it has the regular background and everything, and then you notice that there's a white background on the words of the icons. I know it isn't that big, but when I check the web tab under "customize desktop" and it says "C:\Program Files\Windows NT\prokycov.html" is my desktop. The first time I just left it and then my wallpaper turns white and has a button that says "Activate Desktop" with a bunch of directions. I'm so not sure if I should click it or not so I go and delete the web page or whatever it is - it's back to normal. Except! After I restart the computer it's back again! I have tried spybot and nothing helps and I have tried hijackthis and still nothing.

Please help I don't know what to do! Is it a virus?! or is it just something simple.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Very Important: Before deciding whether you should clean or reformat your system, go and read this thread HERE and decide what it is you want to do.

If after reading the above, you wish to clean your system, do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Also, let me know the results of the AVG Antirootkit scan.
