Direct X Problum

Hi guys... My friend has a little problem with his computer. When he runs the game "Command and Conquer Generals". It says that you need to get a direct x version of 8.1 or higher and he already has 9.0... and he tryed to reinstall Direct x.. but it says that u already have the updated version so u don’t need to... Any suggestions???

Athlon xp 3000
1gb ram
nivida geforce 6800 GS/XT
Xp home Sp2
Direct x 9.0 installed (the latest one of microsoft)

C&CG is an old game, if you look on the box you will see that it doesn't support windows xp.

You might try and run it in XP's emulation mode

Hmm, I'm able to play the game fine on my PC and I got Win XP SP2. Best I can think of is, if possiable, uninstall Direct X, and install the one thats on the CD. After that, if it doesn't work, download the newest Direct X, install it, and make sure everything else is up to date.
