Okay... first time on this site, don't know if I'm going to do this right.

I have a ASUS Motherboard A7V400-mx with onboard graphics VIA Unichrome.

I just bot a new AGP graphics card but need to first turn off my onboard graphics... I've gone through my entire BIOS and can't find any obvious option. Can anyone help?

Hp?

Is this board in an HP system? If so, go to HP and find the manual, as ASUS doesn't list it at their site, which leads me to believe it's OEM. There has to be something in the BIOS ("onboard peripherals", or "Soundmax", or something) that you can disable it with. Check the "advanced" tab.

I was able to locate it on the Asus site. For the PDF file click here.

Look on page 2-14 for "AGP Display switch." This might be it but I don't know for sure. Anyway, I suspect that if it is set to "Auto" you don't have to disable the onboard graphics. It will be automatic.

one more thing

Right-click my computer->manage>device manager-expand "display adapters", right click the onboard GPU, click "disable."
