DJ software advice needed please

Hi All,
I have a friend who is a DJ and he just can't find a programme to do what he wants. Now I don't know enough about DJ'ing to help him out but I'm sure there must be a few DJ's on here, so I thought I'd ask what you all use.He would prefer free but is not totally averse to paying.
