hi,

I have recently bought a new PNY Geforce 7300GP 512mb AGP 8x etc+, on the system requirements for the card state that you should have at least a 350 watt PSU, however mine is only 300 watt, will i be able to get away with using the card with a 300 watt PSU or could it be dangerous???

any helpful posts appriciated

Personally I wouldn't run it like that. At the least it could malfunction because of not enough power, at worst the psu could blow and do damage to your system.

If its only 300 watts then its probably a cheap generic one and of low quality.
Get a decent 400watts or higher psu.

It should be fine, the 7300 isn't all that power hungry. I'd expect if you have more than 10-12A on the 12V you won't have any problems. I run an 8800GTS 320Meg on a Core2Duo system with a couple hard drives and dvd burners and have never seen total power consumption over 245W.

Try to find a PSU that is over rated for whatever card you will run. Extra amperage really makes a machine that's 'just making it': run smoothly with better stability, not overtaxing & maxing out your PSU.
