Does this look like a good raid controller?

It is not a "good" RAID controller. It is the same fakeraid crap you see integrated on motherboards.

Looks supiciously cheap too.. Bottom of the barrel cards tend to have many corners cut a la the firmware is stored on a ROM chip, so you can't even flash it..

You get what you pay for - it will probably "work", but you should expect to pay some $150+ for a brand new decent RAID card.

Personally, if I needed raid support I would use the AHA SCSI controller and
2-6 SCSI HDs with it -- yea I can hear you crying how expensive it is, but
ALL Unix Servers ship with SCSI support for a reason
(oh heck, the cheap IDE-DELL stuff doesn't).
