Doom 3 Slow

hi i have doom 3 and it runs allright unless there is more than a few enemies on the screen, i have a gig of ram, and a radeon 9600 graphics card. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the game running smoother.

troubleshoot.. find out what the bottleneck is.. drivers, heat/temps, game settings etc.

I think your problem is the 9600. I had low frame rates with Doom 3 with a 9800.
Look on Ebay for a 6800GT or Ultra.
