Dsl starts fast then fads to nothing...

I have a win xp computer , 1 year old. c drive is a 250 and I have 3 more 250 in a raid 5 for the F drive. I have tried everything, no luck - now I cannot reformat and reload win xp. It says it cannot find any hard drives. Any help would be greatly appreciated
