Dual booting Win XP & Win98

I am trying to boot from either HD C or HD F, C being XP and F being 98.
When I choose 98, after modifying the boot.ini file, after a few seconds it keeps telling that this *.dll file is missing and that *.dll file is missing, is there anything special I need to do in order to be able to boot from HD F with 98 on it?
This PC has been on XP from the start, just trying to use an older HD with 98 on it, thanks for any assistance!

If you have installed an OS on a primary drive and then install that drive as seconday, the OS will go bananas, since it cannot find any of its files, because the hard drive is not where it is supposed to be.

I believe you can use an advanced bootloader to trick Win98 into thinking that it is on the C: drive. Or, you could just make the Win98 drive as primary (your XP will break of course).

I believe that Win/98 requires booting from C:\ and you then dual boot XP from D:\ or whatever

you just found out why
