Duel Monitor Questions

I am running 2 monitors off my ATI Radeon 9000 card and i was wondering if there was some way that i could get different wallpapers on each monitor

Also when im playing a game that is not running on my main monitors resolution it changes my secondary monitor to compensate for the difference is there any way to disable this any help would be greatly apreciated

Also just wondering will the duel monitors slow my video performance down alot

Using an ATI card I haven't been able to successfully do this without some sort of pay third party software - on an nVidia card it's super easy.
