My DVD Burner, an LG DVDRAM GSA-4081B has suddenly not been able to recognise blank CD&DVDR+/- disks, either when inserted or when trying to burn with Nero 7.
Oddly it will record to CD&DVDRW+/- disks with no problems. I use Verbatim only and even used other verbatim disks to make sure it is not an error due to media corruption. It will record to any of my different brands of DVD/CD RW disks. My burner is just over 12 months old, and up to this time had performed really well.
I have checked DMA settings, reinstalled Nero to the express version that came with the burner, and made sure that the burner is available for 'all users'. The error message reads briefly as 'unrecognised media', but easily recognises the CD/DVDRW disks (either Nero version) via explorer or Nero. It reads prerecorded disks.
Do I need to buy a new burner or is there a fix for this?
cheers
Fred
