emachine t2862 fans only thing working

emachine t2862 video not working

MY grandmother has a emachine t2862 and the only thing that comes on is the fans in the pc. The monitor acts like it wants to but then a messege comes on the screen saying monitor is fine check your pc. I thought this might be the video card so I bought one to install. After putting it in and turning the pc back on nothing happened. I tried going in to BIOS by tapping delete but nothing happened. If I can't get into BIOS to disable onboard video whats next step. Help.

Hello! Welcome to TechSpot

I suggest checking everything inside,then do a bare bones setup.
Having only the cpu, ram and onboard video,(keyboard too) just to see
if you get to bios.
To install a new vid card ,w/o new vid card installed.
Go into bios and disable on board video, reboot and turn off the machine
right away. Install new card and boot normally.
